Lovelace Health System will sponsor a free town hall meeting to educate the public about health care reform from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Embassy Suites, 1000 Woodward Place NE. Lovelace also has launched a new website to provide information about health care reform and health care exchanges at www.healthcareinformednm.com.

Some businesses that employ no more than 25 people can receive some significant tax relief when they sign up for coverage.

Naming Rights Offered as CNM Seeks to Raise $10M

A spare $4 million will let you put your name on a building at Central New Mexico Community College that houses the school’s nursing program.

The CNM Foundation wants to raise $10 million by 2015 by selling naming rights for two buildings, and a variety of labs and other facilities inside CNM buildings.

Proceeds will be used to pay for scholarships and other student programs, said Lisa McCulloch, executive director of the CNM Foundation.

(KRQE) - Since his high school days, Cole Gautsche has lit up football fields across New Mexico with his play.

The Cleveland High School alum won a state title in 2011 before accepting a scholarship to UNM and winning playing time in 2012. He also won the starter's position in 2013.

But the athletic signal caller has had some significant head issues since he enrolled with the Lobos.

Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque has been named one of the best 100 places to work in health care in 2013 by Modern Healthcare Magazine.

It was the fifth consecutive year that the 120-bed hospital, which employs 750, made the magazine’s Top 100 list. It was the only New Mexico health care firm to make this year’s list, according to the magazine’s website.

A new mom gives birth at Lovelace Women’s Hospital on her birthday, but it’s also her dad’s birthday. Both the new mom and grandfather couldn’t be happier that baby Eli will share their special day. Joe Ruiz, “Once it got closer and closer we were all getting more and more excited knowing that it was really going to happen and it will be all three of us now. We’ll be spending every birthday together and having one great party.” Grandfather Joe Ruiz and mother Olivia Ruiz say they are very close and hope to extend that bond with baby Eli.
