Pew is a new hire. He will serve as COO for Lovelace Medical Center.
Pew has more than 15 years of health care experience. Most recently, he was the associate administrator at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, overseeing a 470-bed health care system.
Prior to that, he worked as the director of laboratory and cardiopulmonary services for Providence Health & Services Centralia Hospital in Centralia, Wash.

When Dr. Richard White decided to participate in a federal Medicare pilot program in Albuquerque to standardize hip and knee replacement surgeries, he was excited because he knew bringing down the cost of the surgeries would be a key step in helping reduce overall care costs.
But White, a consultant for orthopedic program development at Lovelace Health System, has found another benefit to standardizing hip and knee replacement surgeries: The procedures can be done faster, and doctors can do more of them a day.
Lovelace Regional Hospital-Roswell is pleased to welcome Glenn Vogelsang, M.D., Ph.D., to its family of providers. Prior to joining Lovelace Regional Hospital-Roswell, Dr. Vogelsang practiced in Oklahoma, Arizona, Wisconsin, Washington, North Carolina, Iowa and North Dakota.
Lovelace Health Plan said Thursday that nearly 94 percent of its 58,000 members who were affected by the end of the firm’s contract with ABQ Health Partners have stayed with Lovelace.
Lovelace also said it has received word from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that the agency will not extend the open enrollment period in New Mexico for Medicare members past the Dec. 7 deadline.

Quality New Mexico announced Thursday that Lovelace Westside Hospital has earned the top honor, a Zia Award for Performance Excellence, among this year’s recipients.

Dr. John Cruickshank, Chief Medical Officer for Lovelace Health System, discussed Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) with radio host Milt McConnell. Dr. Cruickshank also discussed how Lovelace is implementing coordinated care models and PCMH to meet the needs of our community.
