Lovelace Health System has hired two new executive level staff members. They are Farron Sneed, CEO for Lovelace Westside Hospital. Sneed has 20 years of experience in health care administration and previously worked as the chief operating officer/facility compliance officer for Bluefield Regional Medical center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Prior to that, Sneed served as the Assistant Chief Executive Officer at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He has also served as an administrator at McKinney Surgery Center in McKinney, Texas.

The long awaited formal announcement finally came at Thursday’s Los Lunas Village Council meeting.

Lovelace Health System is the provider partner for the proposed Los Lunas hospital, being built by Oklahoma-based Miller Architects.

In a phone interview Friday morning, Lovelace President and CEO Ron Stern said he was personally excited about partnering with Miller for the project.

An Oklahoma City developer has chosen Lovelace Health System to run a new $55 million hospital to be built west of the Interstate 25 exit to Main Street in Los Lunas.

The 110,000-square-foot hospital will be designed and developed by Miller Development + Architecture using private funds and is expected to open in 2015, said the firm’s CEO, Darin Miller, in a telephone interview Friday.

A baby was delivered in a car on the side of an Albuquerque freeway. The baby came so fast, her father was forced to pull over on Interstate 25. Brinna Lee Milligan had a grand entrance into the world. "We're on the side of I-25; we are on the side of the freeway. It's freezing outside, and I'm delivering this baby," said father Andrew Milligan.

"We were half way through Bernalillo when I felt the first urge to just push," said mother Deanne Milligan.

In celebration of 12/12/12, anchor Royale Dá from KOAT-TV was out at Lovelace Women’s Hospital today to talk with the parents of the first baby born at the hospital. Cayvin New arrived at 8:48 a.m. this morning and weighed more than 6 pounds. Proud parents Thomas and Heather New were excited about their bundle of joy.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry, Maria Berry, Lovelace Medical Center CEO Troy Greer, Lovelace Health System President and CEO Ron Stern, and Sister Nancy Kazik, flipped the switch illuminating the tree, which has become an Albuquerque holiday icon.
