New Mexico Heart Institute @ Lovelace Medical Center to conduct heart pump study to help improve recovery following heart attacks

 ALBUQUERQUE – August 15, 2023 – New Mexico Heart Institute/Lovelace Medical Group (NMHI) plans to study the Impella CP®, an FDA-approved heart pump, in patients who have experienced heart attacks in cardiogenic shock, to learn how the pump may help improve recovery. NMHI will be the first site in the United States to conduct this study.

Lovelace Medical Center performs the first concomitant TIF® procedure in Northern New Mexico for the treatment of long-term reflux

ALBUQUERQUE – August 8, 2023 – Lovelace Medical Group (LMG) General Surgeon Dr. David Hoang performed a concomitant TIF® procedure combining hiatal hernia repair with the DaVinci Xi system at Lovelace Medical Center (LMC), making it the first to be completed in Northern New Mexico. The TIF procedure is an advanced treatment option for patients suffering from chronic acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and has been found to reduce recovery time, pain and less visible scarring.
