Chris Gerding, Dr. Kephart and Dr. Tucker Announcements

Chris Gerding has been promoted by Southwest Medical Associates (SWMA) to executive director. Gerding previously was SWMA’s assistant director since 2001. She has a bachelor’s degree in business from Oklahoma City University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Gerding has also been a member of the Medical Group Management Association since 2001.

SOUTHWEST MEDICAL ASSOCIATES (SWMA) has hired two new physicians.

John Tucker, D.O., family practice physician. Tucker previously worked for Presbyterian Medical Services as both the medical director at the Quay County Family Health Center in Tucumcari, and as a family practice physician at the Rio Rancho Family Health Center. He has a medical degree in osteopathic medicine from Touro University in Henderson, Nev.; completed a residency, serving as chief resident, at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Willis Kephart, M.D., gynecologist. Kephart previously worked at the Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Mo., where he practiced in gynecology and urogynecology for five years; at the Lovelace Medical Center for 10 years, where he served as the chief of gynecologic surgery; and worked as a clinical faculty member and clinical assistant professor at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center. He has a medical degree from the the University of Nebraska; completed a residency and internship in OB-GYN at UNM; and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Kephart is a member of the American Medical Association, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
