Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque has been named the third-best health care place to work in the U.S. by Modern Healthcare magazine.

The magazine published its list of the top 100 best places to work in 2013 in September, but didn’t rank the companies. Those rankings were published on the magazine’s website Friday, and LWH came in third.

“At our facility employees are highly engaged. We emphasize teamwork, and our staff, nurses and providers are committed to a highly effective work environment that provides the highest quality of care possible,” said Women’s Hospital CEO Sheri Milone.

It was the fifth consecutive year that the 120-bed hospital, which employs 750, made Modern Healthcare’s top 100 list. It was the only New Mexico health care firm to make this year’s list.

The magazine based its rankings on company policies and practices in eight core areas, including leadership and planning.
