Services Moving from Lovelace Medical Center – Gibson to Lovelace Medical Center – Downtown

Effective midnight, June 30, 2007, we are moving the hospital operations at Lovelace Medical Center – Gibson to Lovelace Medical Center – Downtown, located at I-25 and Martin Luther King Jr.

Once the hospital operations move from Gibson to Downtown, the existing Emergency Department at Lovelace Medical Center-Gibson will be converted to an Urgent Care Center . Our facilities on this campus will be then be renamed Lovelace Healthcare Center- Gibson.

Doctor Clinics To Remain At Lovelace Healthcare Center-Gibson:

The Dialysis Unit, Lovelace Pharmacy, as well as Lovelace Medical Group Primary Care clinic and many specialties will also remain at their current locations at Gibson, including physicians in the following areas:

Below are updates on our Lovelace Medical Center - Downtown renovations.

The new 26,000-square-foot, 32-bed Emergency Department is now open.

Construction continues on the Cardiac Care Center , 8th floor and 9th floor. The completion date for both floors is anticipated to be July 1, 2007 .

Construction is underway on the 6th floor for six Operating Rooms. Anticipated completion date is October.

Pre-op moved to the main level of the hospital, near the OR waiting area.

Renovations are underway in the cafeteria. The cafeteria will remain open during this time. Anticipated completion date is the end of June.

The new Conference Center is now open on the 2nd Floor.

The Acute Dialysis Renal Unit has moved from the 5th floor to the 8th floor of Lovelace Medical Center – Downtown.

The EEG department moved from the 9th floor to the 3rd floor of Lovelace Medical Center – Downtown.

The Main Entrance to Lovelace Medical Center - Downtown is located on the North side of the building. Complimentary valet parking is also available at this entrance.

Lovelace Medical Center- Downtown Parking Updates:

The open parking lot across on Elm Street will be available for regular parking in the spring of 2007. The large parking lot by St. Joseph Square , between Elm and I-25, is a current parking area for patients and employees.

L ovelace Rehabilitation Hospital Parking Updates:

The top deck of the visitor's parking garage is for rehabilitation patients only. The 2nd level is also reserved for patients of the Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital .

Lovelace Medical Towers Building Updates:

Lovelace Outpatient Pharmacy is now open on the 2nd floor, Suite 202 of the Lovelace Medical Towers building. Parking for the Lovelace Pharmacy is located in the Towers Garage. For prescriptions and information, please call 727.2900.

The Towers Garage 2nd level is for handicapped patients and employees, and the 3rd and 4th levels are general parking for patients. If you have any questions, please call security at 727.8340, or call the operator to connect you to security at 727.8000.

The 2nd floor bridge that connects the Medical Towers Building to the Downtown Hospital is now open. Automatic doors are located at both entrances. Arrangements have been made with the valet service for anyone needing assistance in crossing to the hospital's main entrance.
