The hospital received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite Plus.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - We've all received them, and often, they're not so easy to understand. But when you get a medical bill you can't pay, there are simple steps you can take to make it more affordable.

At a time when medical costs keep rising -- higher deductibles, steep out of pocket costs -- paying those bills has never been so difficult. And understanding them -- well, not even health care professionals can always decipher their meaning.

Lovelace Health System is welcoming three new C-level executives — both at its local corporate level and at two of its hospitals.

Since last month, the heavy hitter in Albuquerque’s health care market has welcomed a new CFO at LHS, a new COO at Lovelace Women’s Hospital and is on the hunt for a new CFO for Lovelace Medical Group.

The Heart Gallery started as a traveling photographic and audio exhibit here in New Mexico, created to find forever families for children in foster care. In 2014, Gov. Susanna Martinez took on the Heart Gallery’s initiative as one of her own, unveiling the nation’s first permanent Digital Heart Gallery at a local Walmart.

Now three Lovelace hospitals have installed Heart Galleries of their own: Lovelace Medical Center and Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital in downtown Albuquerque and Lovelace Regional Hospital — Roswell.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A growing patient base in the Albuquerque region is spurring hospitals and other health care providers to invest millions in new facilities or renovate existing spaces – investments that are helping to stimulate the construction sector.

Driving the trend is a trifecta of factors: more insured New Mexicans because of Obamacare, especially the expansion of Medicaid; providers trying to stay competitive; and aging baby boomers needing more care.

Janelle Raborn, who was COO of Albuquerque-based Lovelace Women's Hospital, is now division vice president of operations with Lovelace Health System. James Washecka, who for the past five years has served as CFO of Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Okla., has been named division CFO of Lovelace Health System, effective March 1.

Major health care provider will build new 43,000 SF clinic in North I-25 area

Lovelace Health System plans to break ground on a two-story, 43,200-square-foot clinic in the North I-25 corridor near Jefferson Street and Osuna Road.

The primary care clinic will be part of Independence Square, located at 6701 Jefferson St. NE. The development is by Scott Throckmorton of Argus Investment Realty, who has been working on it since he and other investors bought the 7-acre property in the summer of 2013.

Lovelace Westside Hospital designated as a Pinwheel Champion by Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care
