Lovelace to provide services for Humana Medicare Advantage

Lovelace Health System and its affiliated medical group, Lovelace Medical Group/Southwest Medical Associates, said Tuesday will now provide in-network health care benefits to members of Humana’s Medicare Advantage health plans in 23 New Mexico counties.

Lovelace Women's Hospital NICU Reunion Returns


Lovelace Women’s Hospital celebrated its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) graduates from the past three years with a carnival and celebration Saturday. The event was co-sponsored by the March of Dimes and held at Lovelace Women’s Hospital.

Babies are often admitted for Neonatal Intensive Care when they are premature or are seriously ill. Lovelace Women’s Hospital has treated approximately 6,000 babies since opening its expanded Level III, 53-bed NICU in 2007.

More than 600 people are expected to attend a unique reunion on Sept. 6 at Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque.

Children who as newborns were cared for in LWH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will converge with their families at the hospital for a couple of hours of fun, games, music, food and conversations with their former caregivers.

Lovelace to open new medical oncology clinic


Lovelace Cancer Care Program is partnering with Hematology Oncology Associates of New Mexico (HOA) to offer medical oncology services starting early 2015. The program will offer the latest in cancer oncology treatment for cancer patients, including medical oncology and radiation treatment.

“We are proud to partner with HOA to offer seamless cancer care to our patients,” said Troy Greer, CEO, Lovelace Medical Center. “Now patients will have a full continuum of care within the Lovelace system.”

Costales has 20 years’ experience in the nursing field and has worked as a certified family nurse practitioner at Lovelace Bariatrics since 2010. She has a an associate’s degree in nursing from Central New Mexico Community College; a bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing and a family nurse practitioner license, all from the University of Phoenix.
