Lovelace CEO: Cath lab shows a commitment to community

The new cath lab is just one example of the commitment to Roswell by Lovelace Regional Hospital, says CEO Dawn Tschabrun. The new cardiac catheterization laboratory held a grand opening on Tuesday, the facility is about six weeks old, Tschabrun said.

The cath lab is built with state-of-the-art technology that will allow providers to treat a variety of patients with cardiovascular and vascular conditions with minimally invasive surgical procedures.

Lovelace Regional Hospital will celebrate the opening of a new cardiac catheterization laboratory on Tuesday, April 22, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The hospital is located at 117 East 19th Street in Roswell. 

“We are proud to bring this needed service to our community,” said Dawn Tschabrun, CEO, Lovelace Regional Hospital. “The cath lab will expand cardiology services for southeastern New Mexico and allow for a higher level of treatment for residents in this area.”

Hospital among the top in safety

Lovelace Westside Hospital has been rated among the top-scoring hospitals for safety by Consumer Reports magazine.

The hospital at Golf Course and McMahon NW received 73 points out of a possible 100 based on the most recent data available from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The data related to mortality, readmission, scanning, infections and communication about medications and discharge plans.

Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine, received the highest safety score at 78. Nine hospitals in the top 15 had a score of 73.
