Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital Welcomes New CEO
ALBUQUERQUE , NM , June 14, 2006 – Ulrike Berzau has been named CEO of Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital. She replaces Janelle Raborn who has accepted the position of COO of Lovelace Women's Hospital. Berzau started in her new position June 12.
Prior to her appointment at Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital , Berzau was director of occupational medicine and employee health and rehabilitation and sports medicine services at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids , Mich. In this role she led teams providing rehabilitation services at the acute care hospitals, 20 ambulatory locations, and post acute settings. Berzau has also directed occupational medicine and employee health.
Prior to working at Spectrum Health, Berzau worked in operations management for hospitals and ambulatory services in Egypt and Germany .

Berzau received her physical therapy degree from Ludwig Maximillian University in Munich , Germany and a master in health science from the University of Indianapolis . Additionally, she received a master's degree in management from the Aquinas Graduate School of Management. In 2005, she was named as a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient care including physical and occupational therapies, speech and language therapy, as well as psychology services. The hospital is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Lovelace Health System comprises four acute care hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital, the Lovelace Health Plan, S.E.D. Medical Laboratories, Lovelace Medical Group and 15 neighborhood health care centers in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe .
