Lovelace Health System Launches Don't Bug Me

Lovelace Health System held its 4th Annual “Don’t Bug Me” Flu event on Oct. 17 at Montezuma Elementary School.

More than 45 third graders learned proper hand washing techniques and received information on flu
prevention from health professionals, including Dr. John Iacuone from Lovelace Health Plan.

The event launched a public awareness campaign for Albuquerque Public Elementary Schools and local area businesses on preventing the spread of the flu. Elementary school children are the primary targets for the campaign because of their propensity to transmit flu viruses. The campaign includes free information material that was distributed to all APS elementary schools. All materials developed for schools, businesses and the public and are available for free at www.lovelace.com.
