Lovelace Health System today will celebrate the opening of its newest clinic in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights.

The 5,000 square-foot Lovelace Health Care Center at 9501 Paseo del Norte NE will be a patient-centered medical home that will offer patients a team approach to health care, said Dr. John Cruickshank, CEO of Lovelace Medical Group.

“It’s a team approach to delivering health care focused on prevention, early diagnosis, wellness and managing problems when they arise by developing long-term provider-patient relationships,” Cruickshank said.

Medical team members will include doctors, case managers, social workers and others, Cruickshank added. Lovelace is in the process of getting the clinic, as well as a second one in Albuquerque, accredited as a certified patient-centered medical home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance, Cruickshank added.

“The clinic provides a central medical home for the patient instead of focusing solely on providing episodic care,” Cruickshank added.

The facility will initially have two doctors and the staff will grow as the patient load increases, Cruickshank said.
