Kader AbdeleRahman, M.D.
Kader AbdeleRahman, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist with professional interests in clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, headache, stroke, autoimmune, and parancoplastic neurological disorders. Dr. AbdeleRahman joined Lovelace Medical Group on July 7. Dr. AbdeleRahman earned his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of New Mexico. He earned his medical degree at St. Georges School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. AbdeleRahman completed an internship in medicine and a residency in neurology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He went on to complete a fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of New Mexico. Dr. AbdeleRahman is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and the American Epilepsy Society.
Keri Black, CFNP
Keri Black, PhD, CFNP, is a certified family nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience. Keri joined Lovelace Medical Group on July 7. Keri earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Mary of the Plains in Wichita, Kan. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan. She went on to earn her family nurse practitioners license from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan. In 2009, Keri earned her PhD in nursing from the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining Lovelace, Keri practiced at the University of New Mexico in adult urgent care. She has additional experience practicing in rheumatology and pediatrics.
Jaya Martin, CNM
Jaya Martin, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife. Jaya joined Lovelace Medical Group in June 2014. Jaya is passionate about growing healthy families by building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and providing quality midwifery services, including prenatal care, primary care and breastfeeding support. Jaya earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. She earned an additional bachelor’s degree in nursing from Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City. Jaya went on to earn her master’s degree in nurse midwifery from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. Jaya is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and has completed the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Starla Willis, CNM, MSN
Starla Willis, CNM, MSN, is a certified nurse midwife with a variety of nursing experience. Starla joined Lovelace Medical Group in June 2014. Prior to joining Lovelace, Starla established a nurse midwifery practice and served as a preceptor to University of New Mexico midwifery and nurse practitioner students at a community-based hospital in Gallup where she practiced for more than 15 years. Starla earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Central University in Ada, Okla. She earned her midwifery certificate from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Ky. Starla went on to earn her master’s degree in midwifery from Philadelphia University in Philadelphia. Starla is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and has completed the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
