Dawn Tschabrun, chief executive officer at Lovelace Regional Hospital-Roswell, has been elected as a board member to Quality New Mexico for a three-year term, which started in June 2014.
Over the next three years, Tschabrun will work with her colleagues who represent business, education, government, health care, and nonprofit organizations from across the state to engage New Mexico leaders in Quality New Mexico’s performance excellence programs.
The proposed new osteopathic medical school in Las Cruces would help ease the doctor shortage in New Mexico and offer some of the state’s hospitals a chance to train those physicians, one of the doctors who was involved in the effort to form the school said Tuesday.

Mesa, Ariz.-based NextCare Holdings is continuing its expansion in Albuquerque and recently opened a third clinic in the city in partnership with Lovelace Health System, according to a NextCare news release.
The new clinic, located on the Southwest corner of Menaul Boulevard and Alvarado Drive, opened its doors on June 25. The company will hold a public grand-opening event at the new clinic on July 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
In May 2014, the Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center was the only hospital in New Mexico to receive the silver Mission: Lifeline Receiving Center quality achievement award from the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. This is currently the highest recognition in New Mexico.
Additionally, the Heart Hospital is the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Albuquerque, as recognized through the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.
Eric Hardy is the new Chief Financial Officer for Lovelace Medical Group/Southwest Medical Associates. Hardy has more than 16 years of combined hospital, clinic and corporate level financial experience.
