Charlie Miller's real desire is to just get a chance. A chance to show the nation what so many in Albuquerque already know; that singing and playing the guitar isn't just his skill, it's a passion.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 first reported on Charlie almost a year ago. He's worked at Lovelace Medical Center for decades, but he makes an even bigger difference when he clocks out and picks up his guitar. Charlie brings a little "Elvis" to the medical center, giving live performances to the patients.

Peter Verrecchia, CPA, has joined the Lovelace Medical Center at chief financial officer. Verrecchia has 30 years’ experience in the health-care finances field and 11 years’ experience

as a chief financial officer. He previously worked for five years as the vice president of finance and the chief financial officer for Jackson Hospital and Clinic in Montgomery, Ala.; as

the chief financial officer at the Sierra Providence East Medical Center in El Paso; at the Bandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa.; and at Memorial Hospital of Salem County in Salem, N.J.

Lovelace Bariatrics Accredited

Lovelace Bariatrics at Lovelace Westside Hospital is the first bariatric surgery center in New Mexico to be accredited as a Level 1 facility under the Bariatric Surgery Center Network Accreditation Program of the American College of Surgeons, according to a news release.

“We are proud to be the only bariatric center in New Mexico to receive this prestigious accreditation,” said Farron Sneed, CEO of Lovelace Westside Hospital. “Patients can be assured that we are providing the highest quality of care through our bariatric program.”

Lovelace Care Concierge Service Aims to Take Pain Out of Making Appointments

It can be difficult for people who know their way around the health care system to navigate it, find a new doctor or specialist and make an appointment.

But for someone who has never had insurance or who rarely deals with the system, trying to get through it can be maddening.

Lovelace Health System says it is out to change that.

A little over a month ago, Lovelace launched its Lovelace Care Concierge service, which helps the newly insured and others find doctors and get appointments.

Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center Honored with Mission Lifeline Quality Achievement Award

ALBUQUERQUE (June 11) – In May 2014, the Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center was the only hospital in New Mexico to receive the silver Mission: Lifeline Receiving Center quality achievement award from the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. This is currently the highest recognition in New Mexico.

Additionally, the Heart Hospital is the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Albuquerque, as recognized through the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

An Albuquerque hospital is receiving a huge honor. The Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center has won the Mission Lifeline Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the response time and quality of treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. It’s the only hospital in the state to receive the award. The Heart Hospital is also the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Albuquerque.
