What’s the single most important thing your company has done to become a place where people like to work? The single most important thing that Lovelace Women’s Hospital has done to become a best place to work is creating a service excellence culture that is employee-led and leadership supported. Our “Women’s Outstanding Way” or “WOW” experience includes four standards of behavior: compassion, teamwork, effective communication and respect that every employee must commit to give our customers the best possible experience every time they are here at Lovelace Women’s Hospital.
What’s the most unusual benefit/perk your company offers? Our most unusual benefit is that we offer a loan forgiveness plan in which we pay back student loans for new nurses with a commitment of continued employment. This program helps our nurses focus on patient care and their team.
What was the last thing that made people laugh out loud at your office? The last thing that made people laugh out loud in our office was watching a video of our “stars” performing in our annual Duke City Dance Off for heart health. It is much like "Dancing with the Stars" on television, but this is a version that you don’t always get to see.
Are you hiring, or do you plan to hire in the next year? Due to major shortages of many occupations in the health care industry and the volatile economy, we will continue to recruit and hire the best people that will excel and continue our legacy of the WOW experience.
