Lovelace Women’s hospital wins Zia Award
“Congratulations to NMQA Cycle II honorees. We congratulate Sheri Milone and all employees and medical staff at Lovelace Women’s Hospital for their Zia Award achievement,” said Amy Boule, lead judge for the New Mexico Quality Awards program.
The New Mexico Quality Awards program has a threetiered process to recognize New Mexico businesses and organizations on a performance excellence journey for commitment (Piñon Recognition), progress (Roadrunner Recognition) and excellence (Zia).
Del Norte Credit Union–Santa Fe landed a Roadrunner Recognition and six organizations received Piñon Recognition for demonstrating development and use of systematic processes as a foundation for analysis and improvement to attain improved organizational outcomes.
Piñon recipients are:
LANL Community Programs Office – Los Alamos.
LANL Foundation – Española.
Little Playmates Preschool&Child Care – Las Cruces.
Nor-Lea Hospital District – Lovington.
The Retreat – Rio Rancho.
UNM Information Technologies – Albuquerque.

Quality Awards Ceremony on April 4.” Recipients will be showcased at the 2012 Quality New Mexico Learning Summit & New Mexico Quality Awards Ceremony, April 3-4 at the Marriott Albuquerque Pyramid North. The first group — Cycle I recipients — was announced in November. Roadrunner Recognition went to: Hospital Services Corp. Lovelace Westside Hospital. Sandia National Laboratories’ Logistics Operations. Piñon Recognition went to: Heel Inc. New Mexico Donor Services. Rotary Club of Rio Rancho Sunrise. The New Mexico Quality Awards, modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, provide participating organizations with feedback on their strengths and their opportunities for improvement. This feedback is based on the time-tested Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, which provides an assessment framework to gauge organizational performance.
