Lovelace Health System on Wednesday opened its new, 11,000-square-foot Women’s Group Health Center in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights.
The center at the Medical Pavilion at Lovelace Women’s Hospital will begin taking patients Thursday and will employ 16 health care providers.
“This will make it easier for our patients to get the care they need in one location. The clinic is conveniently located right by the hospital, so patients can easily access hospital services as well,” said Dr. Abraham Lichtmacher , chief of women’s services for Lovelace Health System.
Lovelace has been expanding its physician’s group in recent months with new clinics and urgent care centers.
David Vandewater , president of Ardent Health Services , the Tennessee company that owns Lovelace, said the expansions are necessary to provide care for more people who have insurance through the state’s Medicaid program and the Affordable Care Act.
