Albuquerque, NM – Sharing a gift with Roadrunner Food Bank this month has twice the impact. Throughout the month of December, Lovelace Health System will double gifts made to the Food Bank through December 31, 2013 up to $33,000.
Melody Wattenbarger president and CEO said, “What better way to end the year knowing your giving has twice the impact this month. This wonderful opportunity with Lovelace Health System really leverages giving this holiday season. At a time when hunger remains elevated in our state, gifts to the Food Bank will allow us to start the New Year prepared and ready to distribute more food to our hungriest neighbors.”
Ron Stern, President and CEO at Lovelace Health System said, “We are excited to provide this opportunity to double gifts made to the Food Bank this month. Our hope is that it will inspire giving from the community to be a part of solving hunger this winter for tens of thousands of people. Food is a basic need for all of us, but when the most vulnerable in our community don’t have food so many other long-term health issues can arise especially for at-risk children and seniors. Our partnership with the Food Bank helps ensure they have food the moment it is needed to assist those suffering from hunger.”
For every $1 gift allows the Food Bank to distribute five meals. Thanks to Lovelace Health System this December, every $1 given will allow the food Bank to distribute ten meals.
The community is encouraged to help the Food Bank raise the full $33,000 by 11:59 pm on December 31. Donations to the Food Bank can be made in several ways:
- Give online – www.rrfb.org/lovelace
