Stereotaxis Magnetic System

The new Stereotaxis Magnetic System, exclusively at Heart Hospital of New Mexico @ Lovelace Medical Center, is an innovative, minimally invasive surgical heart care technology. Stereotaxis offers a gentler way to touch delicate hearts affected by rhythm disorders.

The heart is an extremely delicate muscle. Its thin walls can be damaged by the slightest touch. The Stereotaxis GentleTouch™ Magnetic System is designed to help patients with heart rhythm disorders. This innovative technology uses magnetics and computerized controls to precisely navigate within the heart.

The Stereotaxis GentleTouch™ Magnetic System is used for a number of heart diseases, including:

  • Arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, as well as supraventricular tachycardias
  • Heart failure, with interventional procedures such as cardiac resynchronization therapy
  • Coronary artery disease, with procedures designed to reopen blocked arteries in coronary vessels with partial or total occlusion
