Local Man Hopes to Make it on America's Got Talent

Charlie Miller's real desire is to just get a chance. A chance to show the nation what so many in Albuquerque already know; that singing and playing the guitar isn't just his skill, it's a passion.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 first reported on Charlie almost a year ago. He's worked at Lovelace Medical Center for decades, but he makes an even bigger difference when he clocks out and picks up his guitar. Charlie brings a little "Elvis" to the medical center, giving live performances to the patients.

"When you go into a place where people are sick and dying and you can make them smile and laugh that’s a great feeling, and this would let people know that and go to a whole different level," Miller said.

That different level could be a national one. Charlie submitted his audition tape to NBC's "America's Got Talent" on Tuesday.

While everyone hopes Charlie gets that chance, he's got his own reason for hoping the show's producers say yes.

"I've always wanted to meet Heidi Klum," Miller said.
