Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital Celebrates 25 Years

Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital celebrated its 25th anniversary with a ribbon cutting event with the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce that was attended by community members, board members, staff and physicians.

Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital has grown services and technology over the years. Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital offers a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient care. It’s the only hospital in New Mexico accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities in six programs that include Brain Injury Inpatient Rehabilitation programs, Spinal Cord System of Care, Stroke Specialty Program, Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs, Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs (adults); and Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program (children and adolescents.)

Over the years some recent services that have been added include the Voice and Dysphagia Lab to evaluate and treat swallow and/or voice impairments; the Balance and Vestibular Lab to evaluate and treat balance and dizziness issues; and the Wheelchair and Seating Clinic for patients with mobility needs, to name a few. Additionally, the hospital has expanded services into the community by opening an outpatient satellite clinics at Wyoming, Rio Rancho, Jemez and Santa Fe.

“We are proud to celebrate 25 years of service to our community,” said Derrick Jones, CEO, Lovelace Rehabilitation Hospital. “We have the privilege of helping our patients accomplish goals that so many others take for granted - such as learning to walk or speak, count change after a stroke, or balancing normally after a concussion. We celebrate our patients’ every victory, and we are dedicated to offering them every chance to succeed.”
