ALBUQUERQUE (December 2, 2013) – Lovelace Health Plan and ABQ Health Partners (ABQ HP) have signed an agreement that will allow Lovelace patients and members to immediately access ABQ HP physicians and providers.
Lovelace and ABQ Health Partners will begin notifying patients and members of this change.
“We’re pleased to have these providers rejoin our network,” said Ron Stern, president and CEO of Lovelace Health System. “It improves access for the community, especially for primary care, and broadens our network, giving our patients and members more quality choices.”
This agreement with ABQ HP will bring 18 clinic locations and more than 250 providers to the Lovelace network throughout Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.
“ABQ Health Partners’ physicians and providers are pleased to welcome back Lovelace patients and members,” said Misha Palecek, president of ABQ HP. “ABQ HP offers comprehensive health care services and patient centered care to our community. We look forward to caring for Lovelace patients and members and providing them with high-quality health care services.”
It was recently announced that Lovelace Health System has reached an agreement for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) to acquire Lovelace Health Plan, which is anticipated to close approximately Dec. 31. Although the Lovelace and ABQHP provider agreement was in the works for some time, its recent completion will allow for better continuity of care when the BCBSNM and Lovelace transaction closes.
