A Florida physicians’ group has expanded its contract to provide doctors to hospitals in Albuquerque owned by Lovelace Health System.

Hospital Physician Partners, of Hollywood, Fla., said it will now provide doctors to treat inpatients at the Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center. The 1,200-doctor practice had previously provided emergency room doctors for the hospital, said HPP Vice President of Marketing Leah Broderick.

And the practice currently provides inpatient and emergency room doctors for Lovelace Medical Center, Lovelace Women’s Hospital and Lovelace Westside Hospital, HPP said in a news release.

“We have enjoyed a strong partnership with Lovelace over the past four years and are proud of our growth in New Mexico,” said HPP CEO Jeffrey Schillinger. “The addition of the hospitalist services at Heart Hospital allows us to strengthen our commitment to providing high-quality care to the Albuquerque community.”

“This is a very exciting expansion of the services we are providing here,” said director of HPP hospitalist physicians Dr. Robert Mickelson. “I’m looking forward to integrating the entire Lovelace Health system under one hospitalist program and continuing to make strides in our improvements to patient care and satisfaction.”

HPP has contracts with more than 100 hospitals in 26 states.
