AS A HEALTH care worker and consumer, I would like to express the ease and support I have received from Lovelace Health Plan and its providers during the transition from my ABQ Health Partners provider to another who accepts my Lovelace insurance.
The day I found out about the termination of the contract with Lovelace Health Plan by ABQ Health Partners, I was faced with the need to find another primary care provider. I was given names of providers that day and called their offices to set up an initial appointment. It was that easy.
In moments of adversity, we search for a sliver of good, a tiny shining bit of kindness to reminds us that all is never lost, even in the worst of times, because that which is human and humane in us survives.

Health System has named John M. Cruickshank, D.O., as its new Chief Medical Officer.

Two Albuquerque Public Schools on the West Side are participating in a pilot fitness program that is earning praise from its participants.

Ten small businesses from around the state have been picked to participate in the New Mexico Economic Gardening Pilot Program that is designed to boost their companies.
The New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Lovelace Health System and PNM launched the program in August. “We’re excited to offer the opportunity for these ... businesses to take advantage of customized business counseling so they can grow their businesses and create jobs in their communities,” said Beverlee McClure, ACI president and CEO.
Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, N.M., has named John M. Cruickshank, DO, as its new chief medical officer.
In his new role, Dr. Cruickshank will oversee the medical directors of Lovelace Health Plan, Lovelace hospitals and physicians group administrators. He most recently served as chief medical officer for Lovelace Health Plan. Prior to joining Lovelace in 2010, Dr. Cruickshank served as vice president and market medical officer for Humana Healthcare in Phoenix.
