Lovelace Women’s Hospital celebrated its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) graduates from the past three years with a carnival and celebration Saturday. The event was co-sponsored by the March of Dimes and held at Lovelace Women’s Hospital.

Babies are often admitted for Neonatal Intensive Care when they are premature or are seriously ill. Lovelace Women’s Hospital has treated approximately 6,000 babies since opening its expanded Level III, 53-bed NICU in 2007.

More than 600 people are expected to attend a unique reunion on Sept. 6 at Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque.

Children who as newborns were cared for in LWH’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will converge with their families at the hospital for a couple of hours of fun, games, music, food and conversations with their former caregivers.

Lovelace Women’s Hospital is the only hospital in New Mexico offering a new micro-laparoscopy technique for gallbladder removal, hysterectomy, tubal ligation and endometriosis cell removal. This new technique is a virtually scarless laparoscopic procedure using micro instruments. To educate providers about this new micro-laparoscopy technique, Lovelace Women’s Hospital hosted a mobile demonstration lab on Friday.
