She is certified with The American Board of Gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Lovelace NICU re-union brings parents and staff happiness

Many parents come back to Lovelace annually to say thank you to the staff that helped their children get better.

Parents are thankful to the staff at the Lovelace Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for making sure their babies got better.

“It is so wonderful to be able to come back and see all of the nurses... we have pictures of when she was first born and see the doctors and nurses who literally saved her life,”  said mother Tara Lubchenco.

Dr. Torre Near joins Lovelace Medical Group

Torre Near, M.D., has joined the Lovelace Medical Group as a board-certified internal medicine physician practicing at the Lovelace Northside location, 6100 Pan American Fwy. NE. Near has 20 years’ experience providing care in New Mexico. She has a medical degree from UNM and completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin. Near is a member of the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association and the New Mexico State Medical Society.

New technology at Lovelace reduces need for second breast cancer surgeries

Five months after its introduction at Lovelace Women's Hospital, Dune Medical Devices' MarginProbe technology has reduced the need for second lumpectomy surgeries from 9 percent to zero percent.

According to Dr. Cal Ridgeway, medical director for the breast cancer center at the hospital, the technology could also save thousands of dollars.

The first is the second annual Therapy Pet Parade on Tuesday, September 22 from 10am-11am in the hospital lobby. This event recognizes the importance of therapy pets such as dogs and cats used to help patients through physical or occupational therapy. Bystanders are welcome to participate.
